Well here ya go guys.. I don't generally post too many reports.

The last couple of weeks I have been trying to get my surf weight stock built up in anticipation of our spring Drum run. I have taken a couple of breaks to fish a little. A couple of weeks ago I ran out to the dike to deliver some weights to my good friend David. I was in shorts and a t-shirt. I did not intend to be out long. I got there and was shootin the breeze with my bud when I heard one of his clickers go off.

Official Report

He told me to "Get It". It turned out to be his new, never before fished with Daiwa X40 and 11' Tsunami. I grabbed it and reeled up a nice redfish.

Official Report

I had to go due to the fact that I was freezing to death. Later that day my bud David got another nice red on the same rig.

Official Report

Then he and I returned couple of days later. I got a nice drum on one of his 525's. I sometimes think David enjoys watching me catch fish on his rods almost as much as he does catching them himself.

Official Report

Myself and another bud Keith went out last night (02/12/05). We couldn't find live crab anywhere. I said what the heck I have some crab Fishbites. We got out there about 6:30pm. The wind wasn't blowing much at all. Water color looked pretty good and the tide was about to turn around and start going out. I figured our chances were pretty good. I hoped so my bud Keith is just getting into this way of fishing and hasn't caught anything big yet. Well we hadn't been there but maybe 15 minutes when I looked and saw that my X50 was across my Grandwave. I told Keith "We got a fish on". He said "I didn't hear a clicker". Well sure enough in typical "Big Ugly" fashion that joker had picked it up and swam in and to the left with it.

Official Report

Well Keith gets his first big fish, on my new Daiwa X50shv. All in all not bad for winter time on the uppercoast. Spring time is coming. I think we are in for an outstanding year.
