My brother, Kyle, and I rocked down the beach to do some beach/kayak fishing while Scott, Skipjack, and Dwade would later show up to take advantage of the conditions. Got down Thurs night and ran baits.. small sharks.. yaddie yaddie yada. Friday morning my brother and I hit the kayaks as Kyle tore up the Trout from the surf.

We get out a ways and see some activity. We rig up and troll around for a while. Brother Tibs gets hooked up on light tackle.

We would stay out there for a while as the wind would pick up. We would continue to nail other fish and then I go back to trolling and hang something big. Thinking it were a shark at first, I finally get it under the boat to see it is a smoker King! After a bit I finally get him in.

It ends up being a 55" King Mackerel... my largest from the yak and maybe largest period.

We too get tired from all the fun and head back in. Dwade finally shows up and takes a quick pic of my limit of Kings...

We pack up and head off the beach before the mosquitos came out. We hadn't heard much from Dwade so thinking perhaps they were eaten by the bugs. Overall shark fishing was slow, but the kayak fishing was a blast like usual. Should be back out after the storm next week.
